National Scout Pedagogy Course
During a full week we talked about the Scout Method, Scout Law and Promise, Symbolic Framework, Child Profile, Leader’s Role, Educational Objectives, Development Areas, Progress System, Merit Badges, Game, Patrol System and Nature and all their roles in scouting. We also had some time to work on the annual activity plan.
We had loads of fun and i enjoyed every minute both during the delivery because of the awesome group we had and also during all the preparation work because of the perfect co-trainer, Laura and the best coordinators, Diana and Radu.
For me personally, the course was a huge learning experience. I got to use training methods i have not used before like mind-mapping – a training method to explore, in a creative way, a certain concept or issue by unfolding linked topics and ideas in one presentation on a single sheet of paper, using symbols, words, lines and arrows. We used this method when talking about the different Development Areas by creating logos for each area and having the participants guess what area the symbol represents.
And the best part was reading the evaluations after the course. Apparently, all participants had a good time and learned a lot – the overall objective accomplishment was 92%. Quite a good one, if i do say so myself.
Can’t wait for the next training i will deliver. I really like doing this…
